Ron Jones: The Maestro Behind the Magic
With a career spanning decades, Ron Jones is the creative force behind some of television’s most iconic scores, including Star Trek: The Next Generation and Family Guy. Known for his ability to blend heart-pounding orchestration with nuanced emotion, Ron's music doesn’t just accompany stories—it elevates them. From his stunning Skymuse Studios, set amidst serene acreage, he continues to craft unforgettable soundscapes, making him the ultimate composer for film and television producers who demand the extraordinary.
Ron Jones has been composing since he was very young. Best known for his many popular Film and TV shows, Ron was very busy in Los Angeles for 37 years. Though he loves the challenges of scoring a media project, he is now more focused on composing music for the Concert hall. He has received many honors and awards for his work including a Grammy nomination, 5 Emmy Nominations, multiple awards from ASCAP, BMI and SACEM. In 2025 Ron was honored with a lifetime achievement award at the Ferrera Italy Film Festival and was made an honorary Citizen of Maenza Italy. He has conducted his music in the US, Canada and in Europe with orchestras such as The London Philharmonic, The International Orchestra of Rome. A prolific and active composer with so far over 40,000 compositions in the system according to ASCAP.
Ron founded and led the Academy of Scoring Arts in Los Angeles and helped it to become an educational resource for composers in Los Angeles and around the Earth. He has be a guest speaker and lecturer at colleges, universities and in Moscow, Italy and more. He holds a B.A. in music theory and composition, graduated from the Dick Grove school arranging and composing program as we as the film scoring program. Ron taught electronic scoring at USC under Buddy Baker for several years. Ron was mentored by Lalo Schifrin and was his protege’ for three years.
Living now in the Northwest he calls Skymuse his home. Surrounded by forest and meadows and wide open sky Ron finds so much to inspire his creative mind. He is composing new music each week and along with his production team turning new music out at a high level. His greatest joy is not only working and collaborating with great players and artists, but facing the blank score page with all its challenges and possibilities. Life is a grand journey.
